Chauffer Time
I am SO SO glad I got the WeatherTech floor mats!! I had my first occasion this last weekend of hauling around a bunch of drunks! Thankfully no one puked in my ride! But, there were a lot of muddy shoes!! I spent the afternoon today detailing my baby. Those weathrtech liners held up very well!! The carpet underneath is preserved very nicely!!
If I was still using the stock floor mats, I would be pretty peeved right about now. But, a hose and a towel and my floors mats look awesome again.... and no mud on my carpets!
For those with kids, let me say I was able to easily lock in a car seat and a tall booster for a friends kids and take them to on the fly to another place. I hadn't had to put a full car seat in my Durango! My kids are a bit older and only need to smallest boosters. Putting that car seat in and taking it out was pretty easy.
As far as the seating capacity, I was able to haul quite a few drunks around... probably too many. Comes to think of it, all but one was family... lol. The 2nd row bench was able to hold three grown men! I was impressed. I don't know if they were comfortable, but there wasn't any complaining so I figure they were fine.
I was also at one point during this particular weekend to carry two of the huge Coleman marina coolers, along with two smaller coolers and a bunch of other stuff. I hadn't pushed the cargo capacity of my Durango yet, and I was very surprised at how much I could haul around!
This weekend just helped me love my Durango even more!! I only have one regret, right now, I am thinking I should have gone with leather seats. I know I didn't want them because they get hot in the summer and cold in the winter. But, I think they would be a lot easier to clean than the cloth seats I have now.

The Durango is like the roomiest SUV in it's class. I drove my whole family in mine a few weeks ago, 7 deep, with a full size car seat for my son and booster for my daughter. 2 adults in the third row. Everyone was comfy for the hour long ride. Really makes you feel like you spent your money well! We originally looked at the Journey and the 3rd row is useless. My wife is like 5'2" and had to sit sideways in the 3rd row. Plus it was a PITA to get in and out of there.
We had four kids on the back of ours last weekend, two of them in car seats. Plenty of seating space, but the cargo area gets a bit tight with a cooler and stroller back there.
The gripe I have that they SHOULD do something about is the lack of latch anchors in the 3rd row. Give me tools and I can build anything. But installing a car seat without the anchor hookups, well i had to consult the person that the kids come out of.
But hey, I got to take the D on a road trip instead of her van, which does make the twisties a little more fun.

The D's capacity is very nice for its size, there should have been some communication between the Dodge model teams though during the enterior design. For example, it would have been nice if the D had the same in seat storage and built in child boosters that are available in the Journey, and the push button fold flat seats that are available in the minivans.
