Question UConnect Wifi Hotspot feature. 2013 Models??

Just checking out the 2013 models on the Dodge site and they mention Wifi within 150 feet of the vehicle with multiple devices. Is this a new feature? Doesn't really explain much about it.

The salesman I was talking with yesterday seemed to imply that it was a new feature for 2013. On a technical side, I'm assuming its just a 3G/4G module with a basic WiFi access point...would be interested to see what the bandwidth limitations are and if they charge a monthly access fee or not.

I thought that it was an option for 2012 models as well....its a cool feature that i was really interested in, but the documentation is really poor on how to go about getting it and where to go to activate it. Not to mention the backseat TV thing would have been cool, but found out after the fact the Sirius and Chrysler basically scraped the whole concept.

I thought so as well but it looks like, at least in my 2012 Crew, you have to purchase some module and activate a subscription (overpriced in my opinion - unlimited data on my phone might be cheaper and I can create a hotspot that way).

Here's some more info: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...wifi-in-d.html

I had looked into it recently as I realized they mentioned WiFi in the manual. Anyways, perhaps newer models of the D will include the module out of the box.
