Well, since taking the side panel off and tightening that nut, I have not heard the creaking sound again. I don't know if doing that fixed it or not, but it certainly wasn't intentional. I thought I would need to take it apart again to really look at it.
I will be driving a lot tomorrow, I'll see if it returns. I've only been driving to the office this week and really didn't drive the D this weekend. Tomorrow will definitely tell the truth.
Sorry I have not gotten back to you guys regarding my dealer appointment for the drivers seat but my appointment was the day after "sandy" hit so I never made it to dealer. I am going to make another appointment this week. As soon as I get it to dealer I will follow up.
I finally had the opportunity to bring my Durango in for the seat noise. The dealer torqued all the bolts on the seat. The minute I made it to the corner the noise was still there. Went back to service and they said they can't do any other adjustments so they are ordering a new seat frame. Will keep you updated.
Update to Seat Noise. The dealer installed the new parts for the driver seat Part# 4610301af (adjuster for power seat) and it is finally fixed. The noises in the seat are all gone, what a relief.
My wife's driver side front seat has been squeaking for a couple of years now. It squeaks when driven on rough roads and when taking corners. I finally had enough. After looking on different forums and YouTube I noticed they all had one thing in common... no solution! Well, here is the solution. I skeletonized the seat (removed all the plastic) and re installed it. Had my wife sit in the seat and shift her weight back and forth, side to side. I used WD-40 silicon spray (not WD_40) and with the straw sprayed each joint on the area where the squeak was coming from. Starting low on the rack and working my way higher so not to have the lube drip to a joint below(there are three in this location) preventing me from determining which joint had the issue. Once I found the exact joint I removed the seat again. Everything on the rack is black except for the nut/s (each side has one). I removed the nut with the captured washer and cleaned all the old lube and rust. I pryed the collar out of the hole that it rides in and applied some high temp ball bearing grease. Replaced the nut, put everything back together, and reinstalled the seat. SQUEAK IS GONE!
