Can you getaway pic from the top, can't see he far they stick out to put a rope or chain on it. Also do you have any tips, instructions for removing the front fascia? Did you have to buy new plastic rivets?

The hooks are somewhat difficult to photograph given their location, but hopefully the below pics help. As far as tips for taking the front off - if my memory serves me correctly, I used three metric sockets and a screw driver. The first thing that gave me pause - you must take out the two screws holding the wheel well liner in place. (one on the bottom inside portion of the wheel well and one attached to the front skid plate) Next tip, the fog light housing is part of the bumper so the lights do not come out. Each light has a clip on the outside you need to take out. In addition to the fog light clips, I believe there are three more clips holding the lower fascia to the bumper. They were kind of tricky to get in and out. To get the one in the middle, I had to take the license plate holder off so the fascia would slide down. As for the plugs, I didn't break any as they seem quite durable. The plugs are two pieces so to take them out, find the gap between the cap and and the base and just pry in that gap with a small screwdriver. During reassembly I just put all of the plugs back in their respective holes. Look at your plugs closely though as I believe that there are two different size plugs that come into play in this task. The ones on the underside of the skid plate seemed fatter. Once under the vehicle you will see that it is pretty obvious as to what hardware needs to come off. The only parts you should have left are four plugs that are from the plastic shields that were once in the place of the tow hooks. Not to mention the plastic shields. Honestly, had I known about the fog light clips and the license plate holder, I could have shaved quite a bit of time off of this job. The instructions for the Jeep give you a general idea of what to do, but you do have to figure the rest out for yourself. Seriously, not that hard at all...

Default tow hook thread resurection

sorry to refresh this thread but this one got me thru the job.

i was able to install these hooks on a 2011 hemi crew without removing the front bumper or fascia. just remove the skid plate and the 2 out-most fascia clips to give you some flex and the hooks went in in about 45 minutes.

we live in the snow and the wife bought a chevy cruze this year so i figured i better get them installed now.

my tip: some of these fasteners are like t-nuts and have no hex or way to hold while you are torquing down the bolt. be sure to check these long bolts by completely threading them on the t-nuts and clean the galvanization if needed to spin freely. they are a pain to slide into place and even worse to remove as they are deep in square tubing and you access them thru small holes in the bumper frame.

you basically bolt a few brackets in and then bolt the hooks to them.

good luck
