The D got rear ended😡

Estimate was $2,500, replace rear diffuser, replace bumper cover, remove hatch and repair dent, replace tow hitch. Taking it in on Monday, about a week to repair. Taking it to a custom shop who does very food work. Leaving off the DURANGO and AWD badges. Not bad, but still sucks, I asked my agent about getting diminished value since it is a 2012, but he said that it probably won't happen, besides the driver of the other car(Jeep Cherokee '07) is insured with progressive and the damage is'nt that bad. Oh well, about a week to repair

I got rear ended 3 weeks ago too. Sitting at a red light and then WHAMMO from a Ram 2500 pickup. Pushed me into the car in front of me and when the light turned green, that guy took off (no license or insurance?).
Over $5K in damage and 3 weeks in the shop. Front bumper, rear bumper and tailgate damage. The D took the shot well though. Glad I was in it and not a car.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Having been hit in the rear twice, I elected to look into some extra protection for the D. I bought the bumpershield from the listed website selling the super bumper. These are great and are designed to slide in the hitch via rubber grommets. They are also adjustable to two different lengths. I put my at the 4 inch position vs the 8 inch position. It looks great in my opinion and offers a extra layer of protection that can prevent or reduce the amount of damage an accident like yours creates.

Thanks for your suggestion, and no offense but I have worked very hard to craft a "Performance SUV" image for my R/T. I don't have a hitch, don't want one, and even if I did I wouldn't be hanging a massive t-bar off the back in the hopes of thwarting any would-be rearenders.
