Let me rephrase "arduous", the filter is not redily accessible and requires removal of the volant sealed box to access the filter. This requires a couple tools and a bit of time. For comparison, I have a Carbonio carbon fiber intake on my Audi and it too takes tools and a bit of time to remove and gain access to the filter. That is the only aspect I do not like about the sealed box filter housing.
