Default Durango vs. Ram power difference...why?

So I'm curious about the power difference between the Durango and the Ram both with the 5.7. Is the 30+HP difference internal or is it tuning via mapping? Seems like a pretty big difference for the same block. I already have another Hemi in my Magnum and know what they are capable of so I'm just curious what it will take to get the D up closer to the Ram in HP and TQ. Thanks everyone!

I believe I read the intake manifold is different for packaging reasons!

I don't believe the manifold is a direct swap and the throttlebody some claim doesn't do much for the price, although I plan to upgrade mine when I have a few bucks to blow that Wifey wont notice...lol!

They state the 6.1 is a swap for the WK2 GC. As for the TB I know what your saying. I had a larger one on my 5.2L G1 Durango and the performance gain was minimal (even with the Mopar PCM and Volant CAI). But after installing the Mopar CAI this week I can definitely feel some performance gains, it really pulls nicely in the cold Pennsylvania air. A 5 or 7 mm increase in TB opening just might add that little more extra power.

Fastman has a nice package deal as well for a 84mm bore.

Spoke to him a few months back and he seemed to think his standard unit would work best on the Durango!
