I bought an inexpensive code reader and it's been a great investment. I also vaguely remember reading somewhere on the forum that you can get the code directly by pressing some buttons an a certain order.

im starting to think it may have been a mis-fire. when i did the procedure to get the code i just got a "-----" and no code showed up.

i took it to a parts store to have them scan it and after that it the light was off and seemed like it was ok again.

when the light was on it would not go into eco mode.

Check out the other jeep forum... 4,000 posts and counting on the same issue. Specifically P03XX codes... problems with cylinder 2, 4, 6 misfires due to a faulty cylinder head. Dodge is already on part generation 3....

Yup it sounds like the pentastar cylinder head issue.

This was the first time in 33xxx miles that it has come on, and gone off. Like i stated above it didnt give me any codes when i did the "on-accy-on-accy-on". It just read all blank lines.

The vehicle drives like it always has.

Good thing i have an extended warranty and the remainder of the factory.

Sounds like you are having cylinder head problems! I had #4 replaced after misfiring about a month ago.
