I have a 24' Deckboat weighing in around 5500lbs and the durango tows it great. We only tow about 10 miles to the lake, so I don't have an accurate mpg, but the hp is there for your towing needs. I wouldn't think your boat will put a large dent in the mpg, It's not very heavy and it's arrow dynamic.

I've posted on this topic before. I tow an 18.5 foot Ranger Reata that is powered by a 175 HP Evinrude. Total weight of boat, motor, trailer and contents of boat are close to 4000 pounds. I descend and ascend a hill that is at 8% grade to get to the boat launch in my area, plus haul the boat to northern Wisconsin each year for a two week fishing trip. My 2011 Crew with tow package does a fine job towing my rig which was one of the reasons I bought it vs other similar size SUVs it competes with. Gas mileage when towing is in the 14 MPG range. Gas mileage is not really a big issue with me when towing since I know it will be dramatically impacted. I would not hesitate buying another Durango with a V6 and tow package.
