This might be a stupid question but I thought I remembered reading something about wheel spacers on here somewhere. Can you install wheel spacers to make the tire sit more flush with the fenders. What are the pros and cons for any of you who have experience with these. It could possibly be a part time fix until I can save for the viper reps. Thanks in advance.

 

I'm sure h&r or any quality brand of spacer will work but for the size you would need to see a difference your going to need longer studs so that your lugs secure the wheel properly. Personally I would avoid spacers whenever possible, but that's just my personal experience and opinion..good luck!

 

I have used quality hub-centric wheel spacers on nearly a dozen vehicles in the past couple decades without any problems whatsoever. No tire wear, not suspension issues, etc. Usually they were between 10 and 25mm. You do not want to replace your studs! MotorSport Tech makes BORA spacers to order which bolt directly to your hub, then your wheels bols to the spacers. I ran spacers like these on my Dakota R/T for ten years. Don't be scared of quality spacers. Run away fast from cheap spacers.

The only issue is, I do not know if they will work with the Durango 20" wheels, I haven't taken mine off yet to check. I will go for 20mm clear coated spacers in the future - if they fit the inside of the wheels.

Well you certainly don't need longer studs with that sort of spacer for sure.. Nice find!

 

On the site they show hub centric and wheel centric so they should fit perfect. Thinking of grabbing the 28mm set to bring all 4 corners out just past flush at the widest part of the sideway. The stance just need a little tweaking on these stock 20's.

71.5 bore
9/16 bolt
5*5 127 bolt pattern

Ggjeff, Just wanted to know if you ever bought those spacers and if 28mm fit without having to ground down your stock studs. I was going to get 25mm from the same company and was told you may need to grind them down in order for your wheel to sit flush angainst the spacer. Thanks.

 

Buy the way. Your sizes are all right, but i'm sure you know this buy now. Studd thread size is 14mm x 1.5mm.

 

Ya I did get them in 30mm. Even at 30mm I had to cut off 3 threads worth of the studs . The thinner u go the more you'll have to cut off though. So I would do 30 minimum but even 32mm would look great . It sits pretty much flush with the stock 20's and the D looks so much better.. Seriously the stock stance looks terrible IMHO. Look minivanish stock in the rear.

I would think it would be around the 40+ area at least. Them they would poke past the fenders. If you pull a wheel off measure the length of the stud. That's the min you would have to be to clear the tip.
