Glad I got the warranty insurance for the wheels and key fob when I bought mine.

Yeah I purchased what is like extended warranty, and it coves wheels, tires, key fobs, and dings and dents in the doors they fix. Only paid 600 for it when I bought it. Get like 1 key fob a year no deductible.

For a new key? Really? Do I have any options besides paying this ridiculous amount to the dealership? 3 locksmiths I have called do not have a ability to do it.
You can grab new keys from ebay or a forum vendor for less and then a reputable dealer should be able to wipe out the existing keys from the computer and mate the new ones.

Perhaps the dealer was also quoting for changing all of the door locks since the key fob contain a cut key for opening the door and glove box.

Not sure how its ridiculous to check with your home owner's insurance about the loss and damage of a vehicle during a break in. Sorry to infuriate you with a question to help a guy out.

Calm down...I think he meant to just hit reply and hit the quote button instead. Based on the response, I don't think the WTF was directed at you. It was directed at the $$$$ price
