Default K&N 77 Series CAI - Installed

Went with the K&N due to being happy with the quality and sound I had in the past, plus I like the looks/styling the best. As a bonus it matches/blends with the overall color scheme I'm going for both under the hood and on the exterior..

And doesnt hurt that a friend gave it to me who sold his jeep before ever installing it..

Not sure why I hear some bad remarks toward K&N,
this thing is rock solid, comes with dyno sheets, and the quality of the filter is
above average...fit & finish is beautiful

at $215-$220 I think its the best bargain out there for a CAI..

Quick test drive and love the throatier tone and beefier sound it added..

Tomorrow I'll know more about performance gains if any coupled with the existing HT Interceptor..

Breeze to install, 40 minutes and no issues or surprises...
Definitely livened up the look under the hood..a little bling never hurts!

ok very happy and impressed - highly recommended

Sound is really nice, feels like theres an improvement in the high end too...

Im glad I waited a while before installing, so I can feel and hear the difference after having just the HT Interceptor alone...Many times Ive made multiple changes at once to my cars and didnt know which did what if anything...

The new sound is dramatically throatier - went from a growl to a roar... and WOT its a beast..

I recently watched a Mythbusters style vid on YouTube about CAI's and they basically showed next to no improvement with the CAI alone. There were actually decreases n some tests.

I used to race muscle cars in my early 20's and spent a lot of time and $$$ modding. Not until I put together a complete system, intake through exhaust, did I ever notice a real seat of the pants improvement from a single mod (other than rear gears or NOS).

I concur that there is little real effect. My theory is that the throatier sound encourages more throttle, which makes it go faster. If you could rig up a sound effect that ran through your stereo and sounded cooler with more throttle, it could have the same effect - with no real change to the powertrain. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for CAI - but for the sound.
