2012 Dodge Durango WILL NOT START
The TIPM, or Totally Integrated Power Module, performs a similar function to the fuse box. It distributes and controls power within the engine compartment by means of fuses, breakers, relays, etc. So I can see why many mechanics would still refer to the TIPM as a "fuse box". The biggest difference is that the TIPM contains a controller assembly (circuit board), which is where our particular problem resides. The fuel pump control relay is not a replaceable module like you might find in a fuse box, but rather it is an integrated relay on the controller assembly which cannot be repaired at the dealership technician level. So the only solution is replacing the TIPM.
The good news in all of of this is that Chrysler has obtained a new supplier for these TIPMs, and the supply system is healthy now (or at least it was the last time I spoke with my service advisor). So wait times should be a matter of days instead of weeks/months like it was last year. I am also optimistic that the new supplier addressed the deficiency in the original TIPM supplier design in regards to this circuit. But since there are no guarantees, I am prepared to trade our Durango in at the first sign of this problem re-occuring.

There is a fuse block inside on some of these Powernet cars. Sometimes the fuses will be IN the BCM itself, or there will be a separate fuse panel beside the BCM. The TIPM is under the hood and has most of the fuses in it.

Got the car back...haven't heard the hissing noise so far..but it's only been a day or so.
This is what written on the service contract...
TIPM/PDC - Test and replace Module (2 - Skilled). P/N: 68244870AA TIPM KIT-TIPM.
I saw the receipt...and it was something like $1,187 (confirming what other members have been saying).
The interesting part is the dealership said after I reached the 3/36K, regardless if in couple months I have TIPM failure again, it won't be covered under warranty (although I though any repairs are covered for 12/12K??)
So next question, if I plan to keep the car for another 2-3 years, should I consider getting extended warranty? I know many said it's not worthed...but knowing this happened already.
Anyone can recommend a reputable company to buy the extended plan? I called Mopar, and they quoted $2,940 for up to 84/100K with $100 deductible...while Zeigler Auto Group quoted $1,840 for the same plan.

They didn't install external fuel pump relay kit..just replaced the TIPM.
How much is the external fuel pump relay kit? Something we can buy independently and not too hard to DIY?
This maybe late but putting this out there for people to find. Here is how you wire the bypass for the fuel pump relay located in the TIPM. This takes about an hour to do and can be done with simple had tools. Previous to doing this, my Durango had starting issues and would occasional stall while driving. Here is a link to the instructions that I put together along with the STAR instructions from Dodge. Please feel free to share. With this, you will not have to replace the TIPM and save a lot of money.
