Default Auto dim rear view mirror

Hey Guys

Happen to notice last night, never paid attention before. The rear view mirror has a power button and a light either side, when I press power, just the light on the left comes on, is this right? Its white in color. Not really sure how the auto sensing works, but at least would like to know what its supposed to look like, can seem to find any pictures or info on it. So want to know what it should look like, green , white etc and should light on right be on too.

Thanks

The one on the left is an LED and the port on the right is the incoming light sensor. Bright lights behind you hit that sensor and dim both the rearview mirror AND the driver's side mirror.

I've noticed that my mirrors only dim at highway speeds. If I'm sitting at a red light and there is a truck or something behind me, the mirrors are normal. I'm positive the trucks lights are hitting the sensor, but no dimming occurs. If it is a long light, I tilt the side mirror down until the light goes green...
