AWD Neutral Button - 2011 Citadel
We have encountered the same neutral light problem with our 2011 Citadel. We haven't taken it to the shop yet; however, it only started happening within 48 hours of having picked ip from the dealer for some body work. Is this just a coincidence or could the dealer have done something to trigger this issue while working on the front end of the car? Also, is this part subject to a recall?
Thanks for any feedback.

I would recommend reviewing the current concerns with the servicing dealer you were recently at. Please PM me if you would like additional assistance or if you have any questions.
It's been a while since I've been on this site and saw this thread. Same thing happened on my 2011 AWD Crew. Dealer came back and said that it looked like something spilled in it and would not be covered by warranty and that the cost to replace would be $650 because they don't make the part anymore.
That got me thinking (and acting): 1) why was there a design change- maybe they realized that the switch either had a known fault or the fact that the button sat RIGHT BEHIND the cup holder; and 2) nothing out of the ordinary wear and tear that occurs during normal operation occurred (read: I did not spill anything), so why was there a problem with it... Called up Dodge and voiced my concern- after 2 calls and a complaint claim a deal was struck so that all I would pay was the deductible on the warranty...
The new bezel/cup holder and neutral switch is an obvious improvement over the 2011 factory issued item. Personally, I think that there is an issue with the neutral switch causing it to blink that may be the result of dirt or grit "seizing" the button's ability to fully disengage.

Mine just started blinking but won't stop. Is this normal? Does this mean it isn't in AWD anymore and is stuck in neutral? I've never touched that button. A few months ago my Durango became stuck in 4 Low when I accidentally hit the dial. Do I need to take mine into the dealership?
What is blinking? The "LOW" light on the dash or the "Neutral" light next to the switch?
If it's the low light, put the car on level ground and put it in neutral for a bit. It will usually sort itself out.

My 2012 Citadel AWD was having that flashing Low issue and last Monday I took it in. They found and applied a service bulletin "for that exact problem", applied it, and no issue since. I won't call it fixed until it has gone a few weeks, but so far seems to have fixed it. They didn't tell me the service bulletin number, and I could not find it over on the Jeep forum where they have a service bulletin list, most of which apply to the Durango. Then again, the AWD on the Durango is not what the Jeep has. Anyway, your problem may be resolved with a service bulletin.
Pet peeve, but sure wish they treated service bulletins - many of which are patches - like Windows patches and bring you up to date when you bring your vehicle in. Or let us apply patches ourselves using a service they provide to ensure only the applicable patches are applied.
