Question AWD Neutral Button - 2011 Citadel

Last night when the wife got home, she picked me up and we took the kids for dinner. When I get in the driver seat I see a rapidly flashing message on the console. It is hard to make out as it is flashing between screens but its alerting the driver about putting the truck into AWD mode. The Neutral button seems to have been engaged, but it can not be turned off.

We have never used the AWD feature, so never turned it on or off before. It seems as though the button is stuck, and the red night on the Neutral button below the AWD **** is flashing.

Has anyone experienced a stuck Neutral button? Any advice as to turn this off.

The truck still drives the same as though it is off, just the flashing message takes over the console.

Turning off the car does not fix the problem.

Its always in AWD
Try turning the dial to AWD Low range and back to AWD and see if it needs to be reset
If not disconnect main battery post under hood wait a minute and reattach it should reset at that point maybe one of the kids bumped the switch

Thanks for the reply. The **** is still aligned with the AWD position. I will try setting it to low and then back.

Is the Neutral button a button or just an indicator light?

To activate the Neutral the button gets pushed in. If you look in the manual or on your disc manual you will see the procedure.

Thanks Steve. I believe my Neutral Button is faulty and needs to be replaced. there is no tactile feedback when pressed.

Kingskib,

I would recommend having it diagnosed at your dealer, the vehicle may have produce fault codes. If you would like assistance booking an appointment or reviewing your warranty please feel free to PM me!

Thanks Katie. Brought it to the dealer, they are ordering a new AWD switch. They say it is safe to drive until the part comes in....as long as i dont use the AWD :-)
