I'm having an issue where my stereo will not produce any sound. It picks up channels in AM/FM/SAT but when I turn the volume **** it doesn't show the meter for increasing / decreasing the volume. Anyone had that issue before?

It's the Nav system with the 40GB Hard Drive. When I go to the menu screen, the Audio Settings is greyed out, will not let me press that button.

THought I'd ask here before I called the dealership. Figured I'd have better luck here.

 

Ok, odd. Went to the truck at lunch and the sound works. I had turned it off twice to see if it would work while I was on the road and it didn't make a difference.

Guess I'll let it ride until I have to do something with it.

 

There are different modes. When the radio system goes into telephone mode, the volume adjustment is only for the bluetooth telephone for instance. Also, if you get a signal for your acc shutting off, it will mute the audio. Don't know if this has any relevance for your problem, but wanted you to have the info just the same.

 

Thanks JRRF. It did happen after I unplugged my iphone from the radio. I turned off the bluetooth on the phone and that didn't seem to make a difference. Maybe just a hiccup with the phone being unplugged from the radio.

Yeah, it may not have "released" the iphone, but that would still be a problem that the dealer will need to look at.
