I have replaced 2 wireless control modules in 2011 and up Durango and GCs in the last 4 years. Probably 100 TIPMs.

Thank you. Ill see what they have to say about this. If it comes back that did not fix it, they can refund the money and then goodwill the TIPM.

I have been in talks with a goodwill arrangement with Chrysler and today the fuel pump wouldn't shut off until I pulled the fuse, I even tried to just cycle through the ignition switch to see if it would shut off before I pulled the fuse . I videotaped it to show them. This sounds more like a TIPM doesn't it?

Thanks!!

Chris

That works if they do it right. If you do this make sure to mark your TIPM so you can identify it. If you get the wrong one back you'll have massive configuration issues.

Somebody try it and let us know!
I did it and it worked. I asked about the 2011 and he told me the website just isn't up to date. I used a perm marker to ID mines. Been running for a week with no issues.

Did it look the same when it came back or did they modify it?

For a short time Chrysler had a little kit where we could isolate the fuel pump relay circuit on the outside.

My guess is that they won't use that mod anymore since the recent publicity mentions failures other than the fuel pump. If the govt decides there is any possible safety impact such as airbags then we'll be seeing a recall replacement. You would think they'd also have to reimburse anyone who had to pay to have it done. This could get pricey for them.

Interesting. Maybe I will eventually get my $100 deductable back.

Electrical gremlins abounded in my 2011, from the radio/NAV never holding memory to the TIPM replacement, and it was probably going again when we got rid of it.

The loss of headlamps is likely enough to be THE safety issue, not to mention the fuel pump or ASD circuit going dead.
