Ok first off let me say Sean at Hemifever is great to work with...quick responses to emails and inquiries. I asked a million questions before finally saying ok send it to me(well my wife needed an idea for xmas and I said I need this and she said ok). LOL
So when I first got it I had to load 2013 files onto it, it then allowed me to select my 2013 Hemi Durango.
Tonight I decided to give it a go...nerves were on edge!
1. remove push button (makes it easier to work with)
2. plug in tuner and wait it goes thru its paces and then starts with the procedure.
3.it copies my original tune and then loads the tune I chose (87+ this time tank has 89 in it, will fill with 91+ next time)
4. It loads Tune and you go thru the sequence of on key off key etc etc...then finishing
5. it sais tune loaded drive vehicle
NOW THE FUN PART...
6. Put button back in...start D...
7. get rolling out of garage and immediately notice that the throttle response feels better...EVEN BETTER THAN THE HYPERTECH FELT.
8. Go thru my development and notice the truck feels smoother and more responsive. Still I think well its cool out cant be this crisp of throttle can it?
9. Get onto local highway in a slow Merge with other cars and then I see a clear shot to pass, I hit it and OMG what a difference. Instantly the truck seemingly hit 90mph. Backed it down and got off and right back on the other way and same results.
Keep in mind this is just the DIABLO CANNED 87 TUNE! Sean will be tweaking some tunes for me and sending them back to me when he gets a chance. I will keep you posted.
I must say I truly felt the Hypertech did a lot to help the D and I think it still does, It just doesnt completely tune the vehicle.
I wont be going too radical with Mods. So I hope it continues to work smoothly.

No Lights and whats incredible is that it is 10:45pm EST and Sean is sending me 2 custom tunes and data logging instructions.
I highly recommend using Sean @ Hemifever tuning for all your tuning needs.
Now I just need to get rid of the rest of this 89 fuel so I can get a tankful of 93
Guess Ill be going to AMoco!!!

Thanks

As said many times here already you can't change shift mappings with the hypertech units. It will still use the bull**** ECO maps for shifting. Already this option makes it worth to buy the Diablo. Already there your able to change shift points and behavior on your own! Your also able to boost the throttle response without the need of someone like Sean from Hemifever.

BUT, if your really want to change the settings deep in the code you need the CMR software of them which allows much more. There Sean has set up a lot of good things for us.

How much of you are annoyed of the lame 2 to 1 downshifting out of slow curves? The car always felt like stuck in 4th gear only wanting do downshift if you floor it... Dodge tried to fix that with a TSB (as also already mentioned) and I drove the car now a month with it and guess what, it still lame and not that responsive than it was with Sean's settings!!! I changed back to his tune and the car was back alive. That's of course also a negative reputation for Dodge's engineers. At the beginning the TSB was feeling good but the oddness came back really soon. It maybe also has to do with the self learning shifting. Really odd. That NEVER happens with Sean's tune!

The combination of Diablo and Sean's tunes is the great benefit and as already mentioned by others Sean is really helpful and answers all questions asap which is really the best thing.

I maybe was one of the first he has made a 12 Durango tune for and he reduced the torque management to far which came up with a MIL but after some analyzing and some emails he sent me a new tune with a more adapted tune and since then (several months now) the light never came back and the car feels great and pulls hard as it should!

Give it a try.....

I ran both the 87 octane tune and the Hemifever 89 tune on the Trinity. Not much actual performance increase, based on quarter mile results but the shifting is much nicer with the Hemifever tune. Feels more refined.
