New performance 7 seat alternative.

I did read that the Wagoneer is expected in another two years and is meant to compete with the Escalade and larger SUV market so there may be some truth to your statement. If that does end up being the case that might be a good alternative for the original poster.
I feel Dodge will need to do something really special with the Wagoneer as it seems to me that the larger SUV market has gotten smaller than days past but that's just my perception, may not be reality. lol

"Lastly, the Grand Wagoneer’s development has been delayed two years to 2015 in order to give the new Dodge Durango some time to get acclimated in the marketplace. The seven-passenger Grand Wagoneer will be built to compete with the Cadillac Escalade in the large premium SUV segment."

More labor and hard work than anything. LOL
I did most of the painting and everything at my friends Body shop.
For me it paid off at the time, Since 2001 I have accumulated 12 first place trophies from Carlisle All Chrysler and all truck Nationals and 2 second place trophies only ever losing to Heavy D if you know him(about a 100K invested in his pro street D)
All for Fun though.

Finny I was bored with it and it sat most of the time in the garage, It was only used for various trips and shows. I did remove a good deal of the sound system before it was traded as well as some of the underhood goodies and sold them all off
This one will be driven...and Modded of course

This is an excerpt from an article I read on auto guide about the Wagoneer...

Hopefully the Grand Wagoneer will have a more powerful drivetrain than is available in the Durango, like the Denali/Escalade/Navigator do, unlike the Aspen, that had the same drivetrain options as the Durango.

It was a bit simpler back then. Although not exactly the same, I had the same gen Dakota that other than wear items was bulletproof. It rode nice, was quiet and could haul a bunch of crap too lol. I should have kept it
