I found the Forteras to be fine in the snow and even light off road. They have not worn well and now at 33k, I just ordered new tires today, not because there's not plenty of tread left on the Forteras but because they have developed a vibration at highway speeds that cannot be balanced out and this is in spite of regular rotation.

I ordered the Michelin Laitude Tour HP tires. Less aggressive tread pattern than the Forteras but given that I have a 12 hour each way trip coming up in two weeks (going to visit family for Turkey Day), I wanted something quite and smooth. I'll have to report back on how they do.
