Default Wiring Harness/Tow Brakes???

I have a 2012 Durango Crew with 3.6 engine...not sure what trans number is. I need to install a 7 wire towing harness with tow brakes on it. I'll be hauling a small camper approximate weight 2500 lbs...I know my Durango can haul up to 6200 lb so all I need is the extra wiring and brakes.

Should this be a big deal having it installed or can I order the parts and do it myself?

Thanks
David

You will need the dealer to turn on the option and harness with thier computer. You MAY MAY get lucky and its all there jsut need the plug on the end. Many non tow seemed to come with the entire harness all ready run but not activated. Electric brakes would be prewired if you do. PS i tow 3500 lbs all the time and dont have brakes. To each is hsi own but for 2500 lbs you dont need them.

Get opn your back and look around the spare tire and the center of the bumper. Look for a 1.5 " round plug/

MIKEon22s--you might want to consider getting a brake controller unless your trailer hasn't got brakes. If you ever have to panic stop, you may find your Durango brakes inadequate.
