Key Fob Battery
For my 2011, I'm getting about 6-9 months per battery. With all the new keyless entry gizmos, the fob is constantly transmitting, not just when in proximity to the vehicle.
I used to have an aftermarket kill switch for one of my cars and the fob to bypass only transmitted while moving so it wasn't just transmitting endlessly, but only when moving toward the vehicle.

I got exactly twelve months out of mine. I noticed the range diminishing a couple months before. Then when it dies, the screen tells you key not detected.
I was in the parking lot and keyless entry would not function. I used the actual key to unlock the door and the alarm went off upon opening it. The only way to disable the alarm was to pop out the start button, insert the fob and turn the ignition to on. Dodge neglected to indicate this in the manual.

The D spent the night at the dealer for a tranni pan leak and I told them about the key going dead and they agree it was because I leave it in the car 24/7. They did see the "key fob low voltage" error in the computer.
I have been using key #2 for the week and guess what/ today that one wouldn't work. Checked the battery it was 2.98v put the key back together and now it works.

Just got the "low battery" notice last week on my bone stock '12 Crew which I bought used in April of '13. But I don't have remote start just the good old fashioned stick-the-fob in-the-hole-and-turn.
And I just noticed that the "Easy Exit" function on the driver's seat (where it slides waaaay back for easy exiting)also stopped working . . . so I'm wondering if there is a connection.
I ASSUME the fob just snaps apart for a battery change . . .?????

I leave mine in the car all the time too. Fob battery is still ok since I got it in August 2012.
OMG Im so jealous, I can't wait to start boarding. Looks like a road trip first week in Dec. VT here I come!
Oh yeah, don't leave your keys in the vehicle when not in use, it will kill the battery just as JSA advised.

My wife leaves her fob to my Durango in her car parked next to the D in the Garage. I wonder if that would kill the fob battery since it is so close. She got a random "no key detected" warning the other day while using her fob. I don't leave my fob in the car and have never had that warning.
