I spoke too soon. Just got the message that the fob battery is low. Original lasted 16 months and I always leave it in the car.

Mine lasted about 15 months. Just went out this week. Just takes a CR2032 battery. Snaps apart easy with the key taken out.

2 1/2 years and going strong. I keep my key FOB in various places, pockets, counter top, boat glove box, key organizer.

Glad to hear these batteries are easy to replace. The key fobs on the chevrolets (have a G6 and a Cobalt) are horrible. Sure they crack open just fine, but the clip that holds the battery to the circuit board and runs current from the battery to the other places on the board breaks as soon as you try to take the battery out due to poor solder and then you need a whole new key FOB. At over $100, it sucks. I have resoldered my wife and I's key fobs about 4 times already. It's not fun.
