If the OPs was interested, the factory PCM will adjust for adding a CAI and Exhaust but for 3/4 of the powerband it's adjusting it the wrong way. More air equals more fuel as the PCM looks for it's target Air Fuel ratio. But the factory target A/F is already rich, the tune leans it out to make power through most of the powerband. So yes some vehicles respond better to CAI than others but they all benefit from tuning. Hence the term. The Volant is as good as they get but sacrifices the sound level. It's loud at WOT

Ok, so I pick up my R/T in 3 weeks and I want to pull the trigger on a CAI now so I've got it ready. They all say 2013 though, will the 2013 comparable CAI's definitely fit with the 2014? Anyone put one on a 14' and such one?
Thanks

nothing yet from K&N, AFE or AirAid ... either you wait sometime till they make one for your vehicle or try to look it up from another CAI manufacturer like Volant, AEM ... etc

In pics the Volant seems more enclosed....what makes it louder than others?

the size of the filter tip makes its sound (roar) less or more. I had a K&N CAI on
my old 09 Tahoe 5.3 and it was giving a fair amount of roar and when I've switched it with AirAid I got more cause of AirAid's filter is larger than the K&N's one (about 150% larger). large filter tip = more roar / smaller filter tip = less roar

In my opinion a box won't help with the heat unless there is a good feed of outside air to it (there isn't). Basically imagine putting a this plastic box with a bunch of gaps in it inside an oven. The temp inside the box is not going to be any different than the temp outside the box inside the oven.
