Default Rattling HVAC Blower?

Hey all,

Our 2011 Crew just crested over 50k miles. Most of the things on the car are still good, but I noticed a rattle coming from the center dash when the HVAC is turned on (and ONLY when its on). I'm wondering if the bearing for the blower is starting to go, but does anyone know if you can replace the bearing and/or blower itself? In all my previous cars, I rarely touched the HVAC systems except to replace filters, recharge AC and fix leaks, etc. So, its a little outside my wheel house. If I'm right about the diagnosis, a new blower motors seems to be about 100 bucks, but I haven't been able to dig up any specific repair info.

Any insight would be great!

Thanks.

99% of the time it's just a candy wrapper or small piece of paper that got sucked up in there

Man I'm having the same problem, except mine is on the passenger blower (turn blower on it buzzes turn it up it buzzes louder). I took it to the dealership and they are trying to say that it is normal... but when I bought it, it wasn't doing that! SMH Dodge has got to do better!!

This morning i finally got a chance to get my Durango to the dealer to fix the rattle in the HVAC unit area, as you recall I had a noise coming from the right hand side blower of the from passengers side, it turns out they had to replace the blower fan, the mechanic said that the fan was not weighted right so it was rotating funny! Im just glad it was still under my warranty! Easy fix (about 2 hours of my time), no money out of pocket!

Were you able to see how they removed the fan ? I wonder if I have some debris or the blower just needs to be replaced ?
