Question Citadel 2012 20k - major issue- need help

Hi guys
Im having hard time getting my Citadel fixed. It has been already 4 times for one week at the dealership but now It has been already three weeks in the row sitting there and they cannot come out with what is causing that issue.

Here's what happening"
I hear knocking sound coming from front driver side.
To hear it I have to drive slower then 30 mph and be on rough road ( small bumps/uneven road ) Sound is similar to bad strut. When car is cold it is more noticeable. Also sometimes I feel like something is banging under my left foot over fender when I'm driving. During normal drive on highway I don't hear anything and this sound doesn't change when braking.

Here's what dealer did so far and didnt help.
- both struts replaced
- both ball joints replaced.

They brought chassis ears to test for any sound ( no luck )

They are aware of this noise since I was able to replicate it numerous times with different mechanic.

At this point all together my car spent 7 weeks at the service. Dealer is clueless what is making that noise and I already open up service case with dodge to help me up solve this issue.

Any ideas or suggestions I would really appreciate. I do miss my car and I want to get it back as soon as possible. Im also sick and tired of driving some bs rental car. Please help!

7 weeks???? Time to research your lemon law in your area. This is unacceptable. Might want to try another dealership also......depending on how far it maybe.

Sure it's not related to the radio and the noise cancellation system?? It can be boomy from time to time.

Definitely take it to a different dealer for another set of eyes.

I hear the same sound on my 2013 R/T from time to time over certain bumps. Plan on having dealer look at it on first service.

Could it be the auto leveling shocks in the rear??? There have been multiple post on this and from what you describe that is the sound. It does transmit thru the entire chassis when they clunk.

Steve is correct had both rears replaced with 600 miles on the truck . One was leaking and the other just failing. Was doing exactly as you described above.

Check to make sure your hood is aligned, also there is a hose or tube on the passenger side that when you hit it it may rattle against the hood hinge. That took care of mine.

Thanks Mike--I'll have them check the sway bar bushings on my next service. I don't have the load leveling shocks on the R/T. At least they weren't listed on the sticker. I'll also look under the hood.

My 2007 Pontiac G6 does the same thing in cold. I believe it's sway bar bushings. When it gets cold, those contract and harden allowing the sway bar to knock around a little bit. Other than an annoyance, it's nothing to worry about.
