2012 Crew or 2014 SXT?
HAVE YOU DRIVEN A 13 FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME JUSTIN?
I agree they made some nice changes but most are in bells and whistles only 1 is really technical improvement so far. Gas Mileage isn't leaps and bounds better in the Hemi's, with the 6 cylinders it is.

The 13s are great Justin. Remember, most people here have 11-13s and love them!
Not saying the 14s aren't an improvement, because they are, but you just put down the 13s the way you worded that and some guys may not appreciate it.
If it offends someone that the 2014 is better than the 2013, the facts are the facts. The acceleration in the HEMI with the 8 speed is much greater than the 2013 from initial takeoff. The head unit and controls are an obvious improvement over the 2013. The rear seat DVD, again big improvement over 2013 and cosmetically,?i think most people like the changes. I'm sure if there is a 2015, it will be better than the 2014!
I was thinking some more about this thread today. If it were me, i would go with option C if at all possible. Either pony up a few grand extra for a better equipped 2014, or wait a year, save a little more, and pick up a better equipped 2014 model when the 2015's start arriving. I have to have my toys but I would insist on the new model.
Also FWIW if I had it to do over, I would probably pick exactly what I want and have it built to order. Damned "true blue" still looks like purple in the wrong light.

I test drove the 14 a few weeks ago and I agree, 2014 transmission was really smooth, could barely feel the shifting. I have a 2012 R/T, will probably wait for next model and switch her out then, unless something eles hits the market in the next 12 months that catches my attention.
I bought my 2013 R/T fully loaded for 28k with 3 miles on her while the 2014's were arriving at the lot. For the money I spent it was a no brainer to pass up the 2014. Point is, when spending your money get what you want and be happy with your decision. Other peoples opinions don't really matter.
For me it came down to this......how much is a larger nav screen (which I already have in my 2011 Charger and am not overwhelmingly impressed over the 730) and an 8 speed worth to me? Not 15-20k worth

Interesting replies……..to the OP, I would get new no matter what year. For those that state the 14 hemi R/T is way faster (Justin <g>), it's only two tenths faster to sixty. No biggie. Mileage "increase" is i mpg, if that, in real driving conditions. Some here don't need or want the DVD, and my nav screen is plenty large to read. I saved a ton on my closeout '13 and I'll wait to see what's in store in 2015 0r 2016, if they still make the Durango then.

As for the 8 speed accelerating quicker maybe .02 -.04 seconds quicker in 1/4 mile that is ridiculous. If it was a second or 2 quicker I would agree. The rear dvd (none of them look good ) They all look like plastic add ons in all D's whether on seat backs or elsewhere.
Gas Mileage which you didnt enter into it...1- maybe 2 mpg difference is not going to sway the difference in a $6-8K less cost in vehicle for most people and will take an awful long time to make back.
Justin I think all Gen Durango's are Great(ok the gen 2 was rough hence why I never got 1)
Yours is a Great looking Ride but no need to come off as Bashing others.

I bought a bone stock used '12 Crew in April of 2013 and love it. I'm about 6'2", 275#, old, slow and cranky but the DD fits all my needs. I love the size, as does my 120# wife and 100# German Shepard.
I've been a Blue Oval guy all my life and would never have bought a Dodge had I not read some good reviews on the web in 2011/12. From there I checked out Edmund's reviews and then Consumer's Report gave it a recommendation in their annual automobile issue of April 2012. It got excellant marks in about 12 of the 15 catagories. The wife and I visited the local Dodge guy and test drove a '13 Crew and loved it, but the dealer wanted too much so I hit the web and found a smokin' deal in Chattanooga, TN.
The drive home to Maryland was about 600 miles (via I-81/I-66) and I kept it at 75-80 mph whenever possible. The V-6 delivered about 21-22 mpg. We made a 1,300-miles trip to Kentucky and back over the holidays (again at 75-80mph) and the truck delivered around 20-21 mpg -- too many mountains I guess.
My mods include the pedal kits, a used Citadel grille, OEM running boards with SRT8 repro wheels and red caliper covers in the immediate future.
Overall, it is IMHO a clear winner over the Ford and chevy Competitors in all catagories.
Good luck.
