Default Beach driving

I go fishing on beach and dunes of cape cod, MA. Looking to get a 2014 durango. Will this truck be able to handle sand both from a ground clearance and 4wd perspective? Do you recommend hemi since it has low gear and stronger transmission?

Yes just Air down a bit and use low range when needed depending how deep sand is

Id avoid the r/t. I do t think the engine will really matter. get a v8 if youre concerned about towing or going fast. Get a v6 if youre worried about mpg

Not to steer you away from a durango, but you may consider a jeep gc with the air ride.

The Durango is a pretty heavy vehicle for the sand. If you don't need the 3rd row seats or want luxury go with the jeep Cherokee trail hawk

Only jeep with 3rd row will be the Durango branded as the Jeep Wagoneer, at least that's what the sales manager at the dodge dealership told me last week.
