Default Wheels arrived scrached up- return?

So i bought a set of takeoffs for a 2013 srt, these are oem black pvd, advertised as having minor scratches on the spokes. the face of these are pretty good, 1 noticeable blemish on 2 different wheels,

but turn them around an i see 3 of the 4 wheels inside look like this. would this be normally acceptable? these scratches are not advertised.

where the heck did these scratches come from? did they drop the wheel onto the caliper/brakes while dismounting?

Return them!

This could be a number of things. Wheels came loose in an accident smacking the caliper while the wheel was rolling, existing wheel weights could have been there and someone hacked the rims trying to remove them, could have been stacked with a strap or tie on them, etc. Who knows?

If I saw that I would return them. I wash the inside of my rims so that would not fly with me. lol

definitely debating it, i paid 2900 shipped for these takeoffs, came with tpms, and tires have maybe 200 miles on them, still has the little fingers on the surface of the tires.

not a great price by any means, going to see if the seller will give me a partial refund to make it worth my while. these are the black chrome pvd ones which i really like

Those Marks on the back are from the person hanging the wheels on a couple of pieces of pipe or tire mounts.
I see Red paint on there so I will tell you that He probably had them hung on the wall in his garage on a set of Griots Garage tire/wheel hooks
Who was the seller?

If the fronts are good, Scuff the back up with 1000 grit and shoot some semi gloss or satin black on there get the balance checked and you have a set of Awesome wheels.
Just make him give you some cash towards cleaning them up a bit

Also if you notice they took very little weight to balance those which means they are really well made and a Great set of tires mine have a ****load of weights and still arent perfect. They were set up for speed.

Get some money back to have them fixed. About 100 per rim or he can get them back. You have buyers protection thru Ebay..

I see you are on SI also. My suggestions:

Like others have said get some money back from seller or ebay buyer protection
You can attempt to fix the wheels yourself with some sand paper and wheel paint and primer
You can check out Espos Powder Coating on SI and have them repaired and powder coated any color you want.
I highly recommend Opti-Coating the wheels before you put them on for the ultimate protection.

Thanks for the info! i'm just worried about how it'll work since the spokes are black chrome, although it seems that scratched areas are painted.
