Default 180 mile ride in snow ruined paint.

Ride home from NH Saturday from snowmobiling and today was clean the car day, wheel well trim and the clear patch on rear wheels is all sandblasted. It rubs out a little but you can see the tire tread pattern on them.

ouch, do the tires only move up and down in the DD wheel well, or is there back and forth movement

When I lived in Alaska for 27 years it was common to see that pattern on the inside of the wheelwells on all my vehicles. That is the spray pattern off the tire tread, and always matches the tread pattern. Doubtless there was some sand on the roads which helped to sandblast the pattern onto the paint. If it doesn't rub out then get used to it.

Just a treated road after a bit of freezing rain.

I've got the same problem with mine. I'll post pictures as soon as I get some. Just driving in 2 snow storms and treated roads. My R/T is 3 months old.

Have you tried to polish it out? I would try to a wash, clay, polish or compound. Try it by hand with a MF applicatior for compound and foam applicators for polish/ sealant. You might need a DA polisher if by hand doesn't work.

If that doesn't work then you might need to try a wet sand with 3000 or 2500 and then polish the sanding marks, a DA polisher would be preferable.

If you want the best paint protection for your D look into Cquartz Finest and Opticoat, these are permanent nano coatings, unlike waxes and sealants they do not come off unless machine compounded.

Also get front and rear mud flaps, that should help out.

Yeah, take it to a good body shop and they'll probably be able to polish it out.

So glad I don't have to deal with snow.

My lower panels have like 12 coats of wax. I'm not joking. So far all snow/ dirt debri has come off. My go to is HET. it's an enamal reducer and removes debri, paint and other buggers out of the clear coat safetly.$12
