I told them thanks, and walked out. The other issue is nobody has a mandrel bender so......I think the best route is a prefabbed x pipe and then remove the rear resonators and replace with mufflers of choice with tips. Keep as much stainless as possible! Buy a Magnaflow X pipe and 2 offset mufflers with tips and have them weld it in. Done. P.S you gotta watch these lame shops around here, if they can't identify stainless from aluminum, they will probably try to weld stainless to aluminum if you piece a system together and will use the incorrect method of welding the two together. Heads up!
Thanks for heads up man, thats my main problem is finding someone that knows what they are doing and can talk the talk. My good friend had two trucks done at Muffler city with no problems, but I just didnt like "Ron" the owner, little on the arrogant side for my liking. Cheers.

I was planning to try the Gibson axel back maybe this summer. I think it's just crazy to rip out stainless to put stainless back. The Gibson is stainless and meant for our vehicles. Also might get some black tips to put on. I'm afraid to remove the suitcase as my wife will flip out if there is any drone. She rocks the radio so loud I'm not worried about her knowing it sounds different but drone you can't hide. She drives the D 60 miles round trip m-f so drone would blow.

Nice! What tips are you thinking about? You can reuse the factory tips or upgrade. I would love to go to 5" tips double wall. lol

When they say they want to replace your stainless pipes with "aluminum" it is actually "Aluminumized" similar to galvanized. Cheaper steel pipes with a coating to prevent rust. Factory stainless pipes are much better and will not rot through like regular steel pipes will.

Don't let the OCD ruin your life....I'm not allowed to talk, breath, Forum, Ebay, ect around my wife. She has had it with the hours of online searches, Forum chating and so fourth....LOL We have two cars in the garage that don't leave it until all the snow, salt, and road debri is gone and even then only on clear sunny days when the roadways are completely dry. Then there's the DD that now sits too, because I have a work "minivan". she is now another queen of the driveway (need third garage bay) so I can get her inside out of the cold too, Blahahahaha
