That's why you do your own.

You will do a better job than they do.

Maybe. But I suppose its not engine oil on the gravel road. Although I still see (some) farmers using old oil as dust control.
Rare though.

Had a good tip to get a grip on the filter - sand paper.

I keep large pieces of cardboard between the wall and the tool chest just for oil changes. A large piece makes a decent spot to kneel on and if oil splashes it protects the driveway.

The last oil change I did I loosened the filter from under, aligned the catch pan, went top side and slowely twisted it till it fell, very little splash.

I bought and installed a "N0 Spill System" at my last oil change (6800 miles ago) which I will try at my next oil change. Go to www.nospillsystems.com

Ya. Those are handy. Had them on a few highway trucks I ran. Oil change made clean and easy.
Well, cleaner. Some.

Yah, there's still the oil filter to deal with.

I don't even attempt to change my own oil anymore. Luckily my first 6 oil changes are free, but even after that they're only around $15 at the dealership. It's too much of a headache to do it yourself, especially when it's cheaper to have the dealer do it for you.
