Default 2014 Durango bad transmission?

I have less than 3K miles on it and notice when I am coasting to a stop the tranny has a hard downshift from 2 to 1 or 3 to 2. It clunks and you can hear and feel it. I have the V6 pentastar engine and I have not had a chance to take it to the dealer's to check it out. I think it has to do with the German tranny or computer settings. Anyone else have this issue? It is also AWD.

That is Why Chrysler should not have designed their own 8 speed to copy the ZF's design

My R/T doesn't have this issue, but my suburban had it. Loud clunk and you could feel it when the engine went down to 1st gear after stopping a a light. You should get it checked out, it will eventually tear up joints and shafts.

It is, I also found and read it right after I saw Steve's comment. I didn't know Chrysler was making its own version of a ZF. I thought they were importing them all.

Most of the article went way over my head. But there were 2 remarks about the locking torque converter. Sounds like the torque converter clutch is unlocking with a bang...

...with an extremely rapid locking torque converter — and high speed, with shifting taking place faster than a person can perceive it.

...The very tall first gear allows for early lockup of the torque converter clutch.

Are the transmissions the same on the V6 and Hemi as there is different torque values?
