I had yellow 35w 3000k hid in my aspen and never had a problem with them till 3 years later one bulb went out. Now all I'm hearing is that all hid bulbs no matter how low of a k I is will melt. Apparently all the chargers, challengers, tahoes, and camaros all have the same problemwith the fog lights melting with hid light kits.

The melting problem is typically because HID bulbs are NOT meant to be installed in a halogen bulb housing (without a complete re-wire of the system). That being said, most places offer a lower output (35w) option to help avoid this problem. I had a set of 35w HID's in the fog lights of my RAM and never had any problems, but you can tell just standing near the bumper that they get very hot. A set of 55w HID's without converting to projector lights could be a roll of the dice.

I used mine daily. It took a while, but it deff affected them.

You must have the secret experimental high temp housings.

Do yall all have the new gen rangos? is the melting a common issue? Id rather not install in a customers car if they will melt. Ive never had a problem with my HIDs in my fog lights, except for a bad seal wish starbursted the inside.

My Durango is a 2011, but does not have HID's in the fogs (yet). The HID kit I installed was on my 2012 Ram 1500.
