New Durango broke down
Bought my '13 Durango with 7,000 miles on it Sunday. Had to replace gas cap immediately. Tonight engine started making a strange noise, vibration through steering wheel, then lost all power steering. Pulled over, fluid everywhere. 2 and a half hours later Dodge roadside service had a tow truck come pick it up. Dealership has no appointments for 2 months. Now I'm without a car and paying for one I dont have.
Another huge Dodge POS!
Im so pissed I dont even know where to start or who to call or anything. We only have 2 dealerships within about 150 miles of here and the other one is booked even longer. I called the dealership that sold it to me (which is 350+ miles away). He basically said sorry, nothing we can do, not our responsibility because our mechanics went over it before we sold it and it was fine, call and have it taken to your local dealership. Tow truck driver told me this is the 4th new Durango he's towed recently for the exact same thing.

It only has 7k on it, so it is fully under the factory warranty. ALL Dodge dealers have to honor it to keep their dealership. 2 month wait is unacceptable and if you fuss you should get a free rental car. But for me, I would just change the pump myself and be done with it.
I agree with Wash Man -- it is under Factory Warranty so the repairs will be covered. If you are financing, call and complain -- they may suspend your payments or pay for your rental. Also check your auto insurance policy.
In the meantime, check your state's consumer protection laws.
2 months is unacceptable
This happened to me with my Gen 1 Durango -- the issue was actually finding the part at the time. The dealer ended paying for part of my rental and then Chrysler and my insurance company paid for the rest.

You cannot really blame the manufacturer on this one since it was pre-owned.
Have you or did you pull a Carfax report to see if it was a demo unit the dealership beat the hell out of before selling it to someone who then returned the thing for issues that dealer caused? Did the first owner buy it new and beat the hell out of it or break something before trading it in that the dealership never saw?
