Nitto's...
OK, so I am running the Nitto 420s in 285/40/22 and they are driving me nuckin futz! When they are cold I have a pretty decent shimmy in the wheel. Once they warm up it comes and goes (i.e. sometimes I get a shimmy, sometimes it is fine). Had the balance on all 4 wheels re-checked (they have to static balance them since they can only put weights on the insides of the wheels). I just don't get it. I realize I will get more road feel with a lower profile tire, but not a shimmy. I love the look of the Nitto's, but have my tire guy looking at other options as I may $hit can them. Thoughts? Opinions on other tires?
I have had the same issue from day one both with stock wheels and tires and still with the 22's and Nittos. Much worse the first ten minutes and around 60 mph. some mornings the wheel shakes so bad you can see it clearly with your eyes. Dealer has never been able to "replicate" the issue so I gave up trying. My personal feeling from the way it feels is that the issue is in the rack or column not the wheels.
Get them Road force balanced if you can find a place
There have been several post that also indicate that an updated alignment has cured the problem as well. Some of these D's left the factory with alignment off

Yep, 55-60 is where I have the issue as well. Didn't have it at all with the stock wheels/tires or the stock wheels and Michellin's I put on them. I'll look into that balancing and alignment as well. I really hate to give up the Nitto's as I love the way they look on the truck...
That is an issue with the Nittos. I was looking at those originally, but the place where I bought the tires/wheels said I was going to be much happier with the BFGoodrich G-Force TA. I love them. They are more expensive, but it's the only thing between you and the road. I never skimp on a tire.
And they look killer. I went with a 295 45 20 on 20 x 10 in the rear, and 265 50 20 on 20 x 9 in the front. With the towing I do, I wanted to stay in the 20" wheel, it still looks fantastic.

It's a balance issue. They can road force the wheels and tires. Have it dialed in by somebody that knows what they are doing and it will not be a problem anymore.
Had the same issue with my stock 20" wheels from day 1. Took 3 trips to the dealership to get it right. Magically it was solved after I demanded a rental until it was fixed.

same here, a proper balance and alignment at a high end equipped wheel shop
(not most dealers) should fix you up
