Default Anyone try an axle swap?

About the only thing I'm not wild about is the 3:09 axle ratio in my 2013 R/T. Haven't seen a 3:45 for the V-8, but came across a 3:44 pumpkin available on the JGC. They list a 195 mm, same as Durango. Wonder if they could be swapped out?

With the 6 speed/compared to the 8 speed I am essentially starting in 2nd and going to 4th and then 6th. (my 1st, 2nd and 3rd--I'm using 5 forward as 3rd gear is a passing gear only.)

Other than the new 8 speed, I prefer the layout on my '13 vs. the '14.

I'm pretty sure that all R/T's and maybe all 2013 Hemis came with the 3.45 axle ratio as standard.

Default 3:09

If you go here……..all you'll find for 2013 is the 3:09. Probably for CAFE standards.

I have 3 R/T 2014 build sheets from when I was shopping. 2 RWD and 1 AWD. They are all 3.09

FSTDANGO3, I looked at my build sheet as well. Code DLKS "3.44 Overall Top Gear Ratio". Do you have 3.45 against the same code?

Yes, all the '14's are 3.09. I believe the discussion centers on '13's with the V6 at 3.09 vs the V8 at 3.45.

Mine sais 3.45 ratio front and rear.

Interesting. Be nice if I had that option. Is there a way to discern axle ratio from the VIN? No build sheet that I know of. If I do have the 3:09 then that means I could possibly get my hands on a 3:45--actually a pair of them. Wonder why Chrysler didn't list anything but 3:09 for all V-8 Hemi equipped 2013 models?
