Latest Mod - Custom Engine Cover
So as I recently mentioned, putting the Viper Reproductions on has totally re-ignited my mod mania. I had a friend of mine who is a professional painter spray my engine cover in Mineral Gray Metallic with black gloss black HEMI logos, and then had a custom center section made.
I would highly recommend Tony at DesignCutz (www.designcutz.com). He was a true pleasure to work with and shipped a very high quality product with very short turnaround time.
Note the Mopar "M" is cut out in a custom honeycomb pattern. Maybe not everybody's taste, but I am thrilled with how it came out.
Now I REALLY need to detail my engine bay!!!

Thanks Steve! Missed you tonight at Cops & Rodders in Hackettstown. Weather held out but there was about only 1/3 of the normal attendance. Hope to meet up sometime soon. Saving that R/T logo for you.
I was thinking about doing the same thing (cutting out mine myself) and then I broke part of the center section off when I was removing it from the body before paint (like a dumba$$). Thanks to my go-to (eBay) I found DesignCutz. Then I noticed Steve had used him and the project just flowed from there.
I just had mine redone before I head to Moparpalooza.
I was able to pickup another brand new cover from someone for $40 so well worth it
I gave it to my Body guy whom smoothed the entire thing taking out all seams and grain. He applied build primer and sanded and more primer and sanded till it was smooth as silk. He then applied 3 coats of PW7 Bright white base coat, he masked and double masked off all the lettering and stripe to get a 2 toned look and then applied several coats of clear. It was then buffed to a high gloss. I reinstalled my designcutz insert.

Frank I had to detail this thing tonight for my journey to Moparpalooza Tommorow
Maybe see you next week

Steve - That cover looks SICK! Have fun at Moparpalooza! Maybe when we meet up you can explain to me how to properly insert pictures into my threads from Flickr so I don't look like such a tool bag. Safe travels!
