Out of no were push button on steering wheel will not turn on cruise,

I've had that issue once. When I made a stop, turned the car off and back on it worked fine. It is just a computer after all now days. Hope that works for you and it's nothing more.

 

My 2012 hasn't done that but my 2005 did it every few months. Real annoying if you pull out onto the interstate for a long trip and then have to pull off to the side to reboot the cruise.

 

My 2011 R/T did that for the first time today. Next time I restarted, it worked again. Damn electronic gremlins!

 

Works great on my 14 but if I am closing the gap with the vehicle in front of me the adaptive cruise won't kick in

 

Several times it has happened to me. Turned car off and on (after a full stop of course) and it worked. But then, one other time it didn't work at all. I had to take it to a mechanic to have it fixed. You know, tech breaks sometimes.

 

Sorry to hear your cruise control is not working. The dealer can perform diagnostics to determine the cause and can review if there any service bulletins related to the issue. Have the dealer review TSB 08-010-14 which involves a software update for the steering column control module to see if this is related to your issue.

 

Update on 2011 D, Dealer replaced switch on steering wheel, Cleared codes, Works fine,it was covered under warranty, Thanks everyone for your input.
