Hello all:

I am looking to add a Mopar hitch to my 2012 Durango SXT The part number is 82212597AB

I can buy a new Jeep Grand Cherokee hitch part number 82212180AC off a guy at really reasonable price. I studied both photos and the hitches are identical Even the owners manuals even say Grand Cherokee/Durango.

My question is are they the same as they look and does Jeep just use a different part number designation even if its the same hitch?

Somehow I doubt that the bolt patterns in the frame will be identical. Since they don't have the same frame. But maybe it is drilled for multiple applications. Ask them to send you distances between bolt holes then crawl under your truck with a tape measure.

I'm surprised yours didn't come with the panel over the hitch?

 

It might have, I'm the second owner. Anyone have a part number?
