Default Front Right Turn Signal wont work, and the Fog lights flash instead

I have a 2011 Dodge Durango Citadel, i bought it used a few months back, it has about 36k miles on it. and today i found that passenger side turn signal wont work, and the Fog lights flash instead. I swapped the bulbs to see if that was it and it wasn't. Any suggestions? Thank you for youre time.

Thats an interesting one.. What happens when you turn on the fog lights? What happens when you turn on the headlights in general? What happens when you turn on your brighhts? What about your hazards? Do both fog lights blink or just one?

I know, I know. In my case, a bad TIPM was replaced with another bad TIPM and caused the same thing you are seeing. Fogs blink when turn signal are used, but only the right side did this. The left side worked fine. When the fogs were turned on the right blinker would light but not blink.
Complicating this, during replacement of original TIPM or second TIPM, a power block was shorted out and all manner of things went ape. Chrysler had to be contacted, so they are aware of whatever caused this.
The problem started with the original TIPM. but I can't be sure if the power block was shorted during first replacement or second. They have had problems with the TIPM and it's about an $1100 part. I believe they may be back ordered. I also believe they are rebuilding the bad ones.
Good luck,
Bob

I would find a way to test the TIPM before buying on at that price!

if you or previous owner didnt splice any OE wire harnesses or install any Aftermarket lighting alarms etc then my bet is all in on the TIP MODULE

take a quick look under the dash/ steering column and under the hood and see if any harnesses wires etc have been opened/taped/ tampered with

I believe your Durango will have a history of service that you could check at a dealer to see if it had TIPM trouble before or if it had been replaced. It might have extended warranty placed on the part because of the early problems or if it was replaced' the new one may have a warranty.
I would never have known it was doing that if I hadn't been in front of my wife on the way home from the dealer. Did it just start or was it doing it from when you bought it. If you bought it that way from a dealer, you may have some recourse there.

Also I would try to contact Chrysler Customer Service to find out if the TIPM is actually the problem.

Bob

PS It was funny as hell to me too, but mine was under warranty.
