Push Button Start and then shuts off
I have a 2013 Durango with the 5.7 hemi. About 1 out of every 8 to 10 times I start it using the push button, it starts and then shuts off 2 seconds later, leaving the dash lights on . I then push the button again to shut it down. When I go to start it again , it starts fine and runs fine. Also it has never had this problem when I use the remote start function. The truck has only 8000 miles on it. It has been doing this for a while now.
Any ideas what is causing this? I'm just nervous it might cut off while I'm driving and lock the steering.
Would like to have an idea what it is before I take it to the dealer and they use my truck as a guinea pig trying to fix it. Thanks, J

Suppose it's possible, though TIPM failures involve the fuel pump relay inside the TIPM failing open and refusing to start (because no power to the fuel pump) or failing closed and running the battery dead from the fuel pump staying on after the vehicle is shut off. It could be weak and failing open after a few seconds, causing a stall, though haven't heard of that.
To state the obvious, when you have a stall you either are losing ignition or fuel and there are dozens of possible exact causes that fall into one of those two categories. Some of these causes are TIPM, ignition switch or relay, fuel pump, coil pack, computer, sensors, or any of the interconnecting wiring. Could even be a software glitch, perhaps misreading a sensor and taking incorrect action. You can collect guesses or experiences here, but your circumstance may be fairly unique.
The good news is that it is failing frequently enough for them to reproduce while they have it hooked up to their analyzer, and that should help them track it down. You may have to leave it with them a day or so. Be sure to report back what they find.

Yes it seems that the key battery was low but it wasnt displaying it on the dash. I changed battery and the problem stopped.
