Thank you.

Hopefully the court system works and the judge sees what a douche bag the guy is and 1) makes him fork over they $1500 without delay and 2) hands down something that will make him realize what a douche bag he is.

And the local cops might benefit also if they can eat a little crow. They now have proof they are underfunded because, the chief can rationalize, if they'd had access to the same tools you did (discounting initiative and intelligence, of course) this issue could've solved quicker. But don't hold your breath.

Took it to my dent guy. Since the hood is aluminum it wouldn't release the dents completely. $200 to make it pretty good but u can still see some residual waves.

Gonna do the fiberglass hood with the scoop once the doucher coughs up the money.

Might want to watch posting you hare getting it fixed for $500 and hitting the guy with $1500 on the net. I realize this is pretty private (LOL) but I'd hate to see the guy show-up with your post printed out. I think you showed great restraint. I personally would probably have ended up in jail myself for having a personal encounter with this winner...

body work, alternate transportation, anticipated loss when he trades it in and time/aggravation.

I come up with $1500

The judge should make restitution as part of the sentence. Will likely be a term of his probation, which means if he doesn't pay, he goes to jail. Just have an amount for the judge to go off of and make contact with the guys probation officer after sentencing.

If he had done that to my wife, he'd be dead. Wife has a CPL and she's a hell of a shot.

Even better.

Went to his initial appearance yesterday morning. Prosecutor offered him a plea (of course) and in exchange for a guilty plea he can pay the $1500 and once he does they drop the charges. I asked that an apology be part of the plea. So we went into a witness waiting room and he apologized and broke down in tears. We shook hands and put it behind us.

Was the harder thing to do but not having to worry about tension between he and his wife towards my wife and kids is worth it.

Tried to be the bigger man in the situation. Loosing my **** wouldn't be productive and with my line of work will get me into more trouble.

As far as how much I will get the good fixed for is irrelevant. The $1500 becomes his way out of an Assault and criminal damage charge. He's lucky to have it. It's my business what I do with it.

Nice, and way better not worrying about crazy people after it's all settled. And as a bonus got to watch him cry like a little girl. Thats worth it. Cha Ching$
