I would agree that the dip stick is too short. I have a 5% incline in my driveway and we can not check the oil there. Have to put it in the street to get the true reading.
What would changing the oil pan have to do with it not smoking?? Or the dip stick???? That makes no sense! That doesn't cause the blue smoke!
For the excuse of "someone overfilled the oil" well in my case no oil was replaced. So that doesn't apply. I had lots of blue smoke.
When the heads were made for the motor, the third party company, didn't change the router blades/bits, what ever you want to call them, causing them to chatter just a touch, enough to cause them not to seat things properly. A company trying to save the all mighty dollar!
I am thankful that I had a good service manager, apparently really good!!
He worked with me until I was happy. And I live in bo dunk SC!

Goodboy, sounds like we have some really stupid people working in Customer Care. Remember, everyone has a supervisor, go over their heads! Demand that the rep meet you at the dealer to see for himself. Usually the svr mgr can tell you when they are scheduled to show up. Campout and wait. Have them start another vehicle, like a Ram p/u with the hemi and see if it does the same thing. Bet it doesn't.
My smoking issue now is just condensation from being cold in the a.m. and clears right up. Dual exhaust does that. Good luck!!

Well I have a bit of good news... My dealer has agreed to do some diagnosis on my durango... I think we're going to do a compression test and leak down... And I think replace the pcv valve... my service manager has been great... Hopefully we find something lol

I realized I did not post the video I made of my vehicle smoking on Friday December 5th, 2014 before going to the lawyer.

The weather out side was 49 degree's. In warmer weather the smoke last a little longer. After the blue smoke, you see the grey smoke. This dissipates also and then you see the normal condensation smoke these vehicle were designed to do.

Default More into the blue..

Started mine in the garage last week....no hill, and blue smoke for the first time. 19,500 miles. Going the Chrysler route with the new pan, but will try to skip the PCM flash due to what people are saying here.

UPDATE*** went to the garage, popped the hood and checked the oil level. 1 quart too high! Changed my appointment to an oil change, hopefully with the correct amount this time.

Odd that my D has never smoked before this. Gentlemen, check your dipstick.
