Default Dyno today!

Warning... 4900 feet above sea level on a naturally aspirated engine.

Put my 2011 Dodge Durango with the 5.7 HEMI on the dyno today. Not impressive numbers, but not bad for a heavy, naturally aspirated SUV at 5000+ ft above sea level. Big thanks to Auto Trends Motorsports in Fort Collins, CO for fitting me in!

286 TQ / 254 HP

Mods I've done:

American Racing Headers longtube headers
ARH Pure Thunder cat-back exhaust with hi-flow cats
Moe's 87 mm ported throttle body
K&N Cold Air Intake
Diablosport inTune I-1000-DCX
Custom 91 octane tune by HemiFever (Sean)

HEMI Wagon, were those corrected for your altitude numbers or was that straight up? Did Sean know your altitude and tune accordingly? Thanks

No these numbers are not corrected for altitude and yes he knew my altitude.

A stock awd 360 at sea level probably puts 255-270 hp down to all 4 wheels
So his corrected at sea level is 305 or so, he picked up 50 net hp from bolt on mods

I'm not disappointed at all. It's a 5000 pound truck. I have another thread on here about my exhaust problems and they are getting sorted out. Apparently, American Racing Headers sent the wrong exhaust system.. The 3" SRT Grand Cherokee exhaust they sent most likely isn't providing enough back pressure for my naturally aspirated 5.7 liter. I should hopefully have the correct 2.5" exhaust from them in a week or less and I'll take it back to the dyno. Who knows could be another 10-15 horsepower. Haha!

I apologize, I didn't realize it was AWD, my phone wouldnt let me see the video when I first posted. Mine being RWD, I assume all are. Lol. I am curious to how much gain you get when you put the correct exhaust on.

I also need to quick thinking these heavy pigs will ever be "fast". I thought about getting a supercharger but have decided to throw that $8000+ to a car build and just use the D as a tow rig.

Oh it's ok lol. Yeah I am looking forward to the new, correct exhaust.

That's exactly how I feel about it. One person got his supercharged by Cordes Performance in Mesa, AZ and they got 402 HP at the wheels at 2000 ft above sea level. That's alot of money for 100 HP. I'd rather take that $8k-$10k and buy something like an SRT Challenger or SRT Grand Cherokee that would yield the same HP as a supercharged Gen 3 Durango. This is my family hauler, and as much as I like to go fast, I won't be doing it in this ride. LOL.

Has anyone considered a higher stall torque converter? That with a good tune and exhaust would be plenty to help these pigs move out of their own way. That combined with some suspension work and you might have a truck worthy of the R/T title.
