I am looking at replacing exterior lights with led bulbs. are there any issues with this since they draw very little power? I have heard of fast blinkers because computer thinks the bulb is burnt out.

On a side note. How many watts is recommended. I see LEDs advertised by watts and 14x and 16x. Just looking for a quality bulb. I have seen posts, but nothing that answers this.

Youll need to wire a resistor so the car doesnt think the bulb is burned out. you will get hyper flashing if you dont do this.

 

I seen some leds locally that had built in resister. Verdict is still out if I do. Your the first comment after 60 views. Must not be popular then.

you can also buy an LED flasher relay which replaces the standard flasher relay on your durango once you have all leds installed. then you no longer need resistors

 

I've replaced all the outside lights with Leds... For the front amber and rears, I used dual brightness LEDs and had to put resistors inline with the bright feed to keep the hyperflash at bay... The inner leds on the rear, license plate, and front side leds did not require resistors...

I'm happy with the fronts. The rears are ok, but not quite as bright during the day.
