Default Spare tire

Does anyone know if the full sized spare our the Citadel is a regular tire like the 4 on the ground. The reason I ask is that recently I helped someone change a tire with a spare on a Grand Cherokee and while it was full sized, it was a glorified donut, not to be used for other than temporary.
Thanks
Ed

Durango has a full sized spare....same tire as stock, but on a black steel rim.

My 2011 Citadel came with four 20" wheels and tires 265/50R20.
The spare tire however was a 245mm on an 18" black steel rim.
For comparison, on the 2011 Crew, that comes with 18" wheels, the tires are 265/60R18. I do not expect the spare tire to be different on different trims, so I guess that even on vehicles with 18" rims, the spare tire is not the same as the others.

If it came with the factory tow package it will have the full size spare. That was the issue I had when I bought my 2013 Durango. The black one they had that I wanted , didnt come with the factory tow package. They said they would install the hitch for me. But it still wouldnt have the full spare, tow/haul feature ,and leveling shocks. I opted for the silver one that had the factory tow package and all the right parts.

I have the factory tow package and my spare tire is not full size. This is the case with the MY 2011 and maybe for vehicles prepared for overseas markets? (my DD has stickers in Arabic/Chinese everywhere)

That is a 'full-size' spare as in it is not branded a 'temporary use only' donut spare.

That is a full-width, 18-inch mud and snow certified tire. If you measure the circumference you will see that it is not far off from your stock 20s

OK, it warmed up today and our company left this morning so I crawled under the back end. Did'nt bother to look at the exact size, but it was clear that the tire was a SOLUS, and not an OEM Goodyear Fortura that are on the ground. It is a full sized spare, but I would say it is a temporary tire. My thoughts were to switch it with one of the existing tires and only have to buy 3 new ones, that is not possible now.
FWIW, our Citadel has a tow package. So, anyone out there thinking that you have a standard full sized spare, you had best look as it likely is a temporary tire like mine.
Screwed again by the manufacturer, they likely saved $5 on my $65M vehicle.

Turborusty
you are misinformed
all the full size spare means is that it has the same overall diameter as the other tires. They are usually not as wide

Well, I am not sure my spare tire is not branded "temporary", there is a sticker on it, but it is in Arabic, maybe it means just that
However as others have observed above, if by full size you mean just the diameter, fine, it is a full size. But this does not make it a permanent replacement for the other tires, because both width AND above all age of the rubber, do matter a lot.
And I should add that my spare tire sits in my garage, as it is replaced by the LPG tank
