Durango 3.6L Roll Call
I have a 13 SXT w/ the 3.6.. before that I had an '11 with the same engine - I would have loved a semi but with the driving I do I think I'd constantly be at a gas station. (70+ miles a day and a lot of stop and go traffic and lights). I've also never had anything really fast.. Before my Durango's I had a Subaru Forester, Saturn Vue, 6 Cyl Chevy Blazer.. heck - even my first car was a 4 cyl. Mustang! (loved that slow little thing). I think I'd get myself in trouble with too much speed.
Haven't had any issues with the engine - theres enough power for me and rides nice and smooth.

I have the 3.6L Citadel, I am happy with the ride my wife really likes it as its her commuter car. Right now I'm dealing with a Tranny condenser/cooler leak. $1,200 quote. And it's not covered under the Powertrain even though it cools the tranny fluid.
I am happy with the 3.6L, but I would be happier with the V8, no doubt about it
Fact is that where I live the taxation on the V8 is twice as much as the V6.
I could not justify the extra costs, even for 70 more HP and the wonderful rumbling, sigh.

Honestly, my 13 Ram with 5.7 Hemi gets 17.5 mpg all day long city driving! It has the MDS and 8 speed transmission. So far, I am lucky to get 16mpg from the Durango, LOL! I think the 5 speed transmission in the D is the killer...still love it though! plenty of power for daily driving in the hills of PA!
16mpg with the v6 sucks, wow. You drive that thing hard eh
This is the same figure I get in the city and my driving style in the city is "civilized" (mine is a AWD 3.6L with 5 Speeds)
I have a 14 Limited V6 and it's great. The 8 speed transmission makes a world of a difference from the 11 Durango I used to have. Acceleration is great and it's great on gas. Going down to GA and FL I got up to 26.9 mpg on 93 octane. It is an overall great truck.
No, I have the DGJ 5-Speed Auto W5A580 Transmission in mine. We don't drive it hard, it's just mostly city driving.
Your Durango looks great after a good wash!!
