Default CAI quiet on the Hemi ?

So I installed a K&N CAI setup, and I can't hear any difference. I pulled the K&N off for a test drive, and it sounds better, but you gotta be on the throttle, but can't run like this.

The K&N has a closed end, wondering if that attributes to the lower noise.
I've used Spectre and had great sound....they have an open end.

Anyone with some CAI experience on our trucks ?
What are you running ?

Volant, fairly quiet at Cruze and drowns out the exhaust at Wot.

I've found that vehicles with the variable intake runners or whatever you call them are very quiet unless you are at WOT. Not sue if the Hemi's have that but it could explain the quietness.

Volant here, on a 5.7L HEMI. at cruise it sounds the same. get on it though and you totally hear it. noticeable difference.

my exhaust note didn't change though. I had read some feedback that exhaust sounded a little different after installing a CAI. mine sounds the same to me.

You will only notice a difference during heavy throttle application. Not sure why you are expecting more sound at all times. That's what the exhaust does, not the intake.

I have the K&N CAI and like the others, you don't notice it unless under full throttle... Otherwise it's silent.

This is exactly what I hear. You wouldn't know there was a CAI installed at all....even under some good throttle.
Exhaust growls with the Hpipe, but nothing from the engine.

I'm thinking of installing an open end Spectre to see what the sounds like.
